A message of thanks from Wendy Hocking

Well what a fabulous night!  I hope you enjoyed the night as much as I did.

It was a full evening, packed full of entertainment, provided firstly by the actors, in ‘Only Human’; Paul Deakin, Emily Bosworth, Victoria Wood, and Sarah Giannakopoulos, who played the parts of our service users; Tyler, Chloe and Michele which showed the reality and emotion of their lives, and snippets of how The Gingerbread Centre has helped them; I’m sure you were as touched by this as I was. Many thanks also to Damien and Kane who kindly volunteered to dress up as "Biscuit" on the night too.

We were entertained with music all evening by Dave Dee, by Simon from Scartoons, who probably made you laugh with his version of you!

We had the fabulous Ollie Marland, who danced and sung his way into our hearts and dancing shoes, mingling with us on the dance floor – hopefully Ollie will go far, but stay in touch for us to have further entertainment off him again.

The auction, with donations from our supporters was a great success, helping the night to raise over £5,000, which will help us continue our valuable work for the vulnerable families we support;  I will circulate the full amount once the final calculation has been done.

I must say that I was very proud of my staff, looking suitably smart and helping the evening go smoothly, with a special thanks to Julie, and Nikki and an extra Big ‘thank you’ to Karen Colemen from Excello Law, all of them had worked so hard in the background getting everything ready in advance of the ball; including Marie and the Activity Club team at Rothesay Court, helping the children and parents make our table centrepieces.

Don’t forget to look at the photo’s taken by Jemma Hancock in the evening, some of the photo’s are available to view and to place your orders via her website; Jemma Hancock Photography.

We hope to do this again next year, so if you want me to reserve advance tickets for you, please let me know!
