Night of Comedians
December 9, 2013
Every workplace has a comedian, or so they say.
Well, 10 Local funny men and women proved that Staffordshire businesses are funny when challenged to stand-up for a charity comedy challenge
Over six weeks, Mathew Till, James Jefferies, Jason Barlow, Jane Lloyd, Mike Grocott, Carolyn Trafford, Denis Sidebottom, Helene Sandy, Julian Whittaker and Marcos Clowes undertook an intensive comedy course led by the Liverpool Comedy Trust.
Their new found comedy skills were put to the test on the 28th of November when they took to the spotlight and stood up for Gingerbread in front of a live audience at the Florence sports and social
The Gingerbread Centre, Stoke-on-Trent, devised the comedy challenge as a novel way to raise much needed funds for the charity which provides support and accommodation for vulnerable homeless men and women.
All 12 Participants have raised a fantastic £250 in sponsorship which will go a long way in providing families with the added value services that make such a huge difference.
The night was a huge success and a great night was had by all. All our new comedians were fantastic and show a huge amount of support for Gingerbread.
Carolyn Trafford, one of our participants said:
"I walked out a foot taller than I went in. I already had a good level of confidence but stretching my comfort zone to this has just given me so much more", Carolyn Trafford, Reflections Coaching
Thank you so much to all who support Gingerbread at this event.
